Details  Transition Engineering has emerged out of research into energy engineering, but in challenging and complex relationships with society, policy, transport, buildings, economics and un-sustainability. Some very special people have taken years out of their lives to boldly go where no-one has gone before, and to push their creativity to the absolute limits by taking on the truly heretical question of how do we engineer the future that society wants rather than the one we are heading for.Link  www.aemslab.org.nz/Tags    Research

Details  Pervasive risks of un-sustainability pose challenges in all disciplines. We don't need another interest group, but we do need urgent action. All engineering disciplines are responsible for the projects that will change engineered systems to prevent what is preventable.

GATE is engineers and scientists joining together, giving themselves permission to look for the path-break from business as usual. Transition Engineering is not a big program with complex formulas - it is an extremely courageous act looking for the downshift in your own organisation.
